The Federal Ministry of Solid Minerals Development, is pleased to announce the commencement of its Biometric Data Capturing Project for explosive exposed persons in the mining industry in the country.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Mary Ogbe, along with the Director, Inspectorate Division Engr. Imam A. Ganiyu and other staff of the department were present and participated in the launching of the Project platform which was developed by Aribet International Limited.

The project aims to enhance security, efficiency, and accountability, ensuring compliance with Nigerian regulations and industry best practices by deploying Tech based management platform to enable the Ministry to properly and effectively track all persons/equipment involved in explosives within the mining industry.

This initiative is designed to among other benefits, “improve accuracy and efficiency in capturing and storing date of explosive exposed persons on and off the field of operations, “reduce identity theft of such persons,” and “enhance national security”.

The biometric data capturing process will involve the collection of  personal and organizational information, fingerprints, and facial recognition.

We assure the public that the collected data will be securely stored and protected in accordance with international best practices and relevant data protection regulations/laws of the country.
